Dr. Greg Matthews, Veterinarian

Dr. Greg Matthews

I'm Dr. Greg Matthews. Originally from Pemberville, Ohio, I graduated from Eastwood High School in 1968. I earned my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University in 1975.

After graduation, I started a mixed practice in Bowling Green, Ohio, and practiced there for 9 years. The next year was spent working at Select Embryos, Inc., in Plain City, Ohio, doing Embryo Transfer work on cattle. In 1986, I purchased Dr. Russell Miller's veterinary practice in Republic, Ohio and a year later I opened the Fremont office in the Potter Village Shopping Center. In 2009, we moved into our new facility just north of Fremont at 2180 Dickinson St.

I very much enjoy private practice and working with both large and small animals. I am a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, the International Embryo Transfer Society and the Society For Theriogenology and regularly attend continuing education meetings.

Dr. Julie Matthews, Veterinarian

Dr. Julie Matthews

Hi! I am Dr. Julie Matthews and I started working full time as a veterinarian at our clinic in July 2009. Growing up I spent many years working at the clinic assisting in the office.

I graduated from Tiffin Calvert High School in 1998 and earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from The Ohio State University in 2002. I spent a year working as an Admissions Counselor at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Soon I realized I really wanted to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine. I went back to college and earned my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in June of 2009.

I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine, but have a particular interest for soft tissue surgery in both small and large animals. I am a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association.

I currently have a Golden Retriever named Bella, but would like to add to my animal family soon.

Marilyn Matthews, Office Manager

Dr. Marilyn Matthews

I am Marilyn Matthews and I have been actively involved with all aspects of our veterinary practice since my husband, Dr. Greg Matthews, and I opened our first office in Bowling Green, Ohio, in 1975. We have 2 daughters. Jennifer is married to Heath, has a son, Alex, and is a teacher. Julie is a veterinarian and joined us in our Fremont practice in 2009.

Originally from Milford Center, Ohio, I graduated from Fairbanks High School in 1969 and obtained my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Capital University in 1973.

I really enjoy working in the veterinary field and getting to work with animals and their owners every day.
